WHAT ISBIOCONTROL?
Biocontrol is a set of crop and plant protection methods using living organisms or natural substances. Its principle is based on balance management and pest regulation rather than pest eradication. Biocontrol is therefore one of the components of agroecology and sustainable management of natural environments.
Biocontrol products were authorised by the Energy Transition Act of 17 August 2015 aimed at gradually reducing the use of conventional phytopharmaceutical products in farming and non-farming areas in order to reduce their environmental impact.
